  6 STARS -- Originally written late 2009. Updated 6 5 2015 / Dr Hamill recently performed surgery on my L5 and S1 disc herniation. I was completely immobile for two weeks, having severe sciatica on the left side. Dr Hamill scheduled surgery within a week for me. i was brought into the hospital in a wheelchair in extreme pain, later that evening i left the hospital almost able to walk. Recovery was about one month. After 4 epidurals from Buffalo spine, i was finally able to get the surgery which was a micro discectomy. I just wish i could have gotten it earlier than i did, i would have opted for the surgery after te second epidural if i knew how amazing the surgery went. Dr Hamill and staff were amazing, and very professional. They even called me out of the blue to see how i was doing. While in surgery they kept my family informed and Dr Hamill spoke persoannly to my father stating it was nastiest he has seen in his surgeries. I am very pleased with the results. almost done with physical Therapy. Im at about 90 percent at this time 75 days later. Ive been exercising, walking unlimited and ready for golf again, I have my life back! Highly recommended IMO. Buffalo Spine and Sports as my initial referrer were excellent too. If you have questions about the procedure feel free to contact me. I was looking all over the web for reviews and percentages for this procedure and found very little. Best thing i ever did! The surgery does nothing to bone material and is a godsend. Dr Hamill in my opinion is THE best in the Buffalo area. 6 stars -- Scot Czubaj ************Update as of 6-5-15 - I had to have the same surgery again in January of 2015, but for the other side that was bothering me, once again Dr Hamill was the best i could have asked for. Im almost entirely pain free, minus the residual pain just from years of nerve aggravation. surgery early would have made that a better outcome, but i have my life back. I refer people to Dr Hamill when i see they are going though the same thing i was. I decided to update this after i just referred a friend to him, most likely a candidate as well.
